Confession

Um, yeah... I totally stole the confession idea for this post from my friend Elana. But what can I say? Elana is brilliant and it is a brilliant idea! I want to know your writing confession! Here is mine.

Deepest darkest fear: When my kids are grown, realizing I missed their childhood because I was too involved in writing.

(That's why I write when they nap or after they are in bed. 7 p.m. bedtime works wonders for my writing!) So, what is your fear?

And on to other stuff: We got another award. Thank you L.B. Diamond! You are a joy and delight, LB. And in honor of you, I nominate these fellow bloggers for the Silver Lining award (look to the sidebar on the right for a picture of the award!).

D.L. Hammons at Cruising Altitude because he always leaves profound comments on my posts. Thanks, DL.

Embee over at Musings of a Would Be-Writer because she does everything! Check out her profile if you don't believe me.

Scott at A Writer's Blog because even though I don't know him that well yet, he seems to brighten a lot of blogs with his comments.

Kristi at Sisters In Scribe for being plain, flat-out awesome and absolutely lovely online!

And Karen at Novels During Nap Time for getting about fifteen people to follow Shooting Stars at our last contest. Thanks, Karen!

Check out details of an upcoming contest for this blog on the Query Tracker blog--the contest will be co-hosted by the amazing Elana Johnson, so be sure you follow her blog, too!

Gee...thanks for setting me up...now I gotta come up with a profound comment. *Gulp*

How's this? My mother told me once that she had aspirations to dance professionally before she had us kids, but decided instead to be a stay-at-home mom. That left a sadness with me, knowing that she gave up something she loved so she could wipe our noses and clean dirt our of our scrapes. I wish that she could have found a happy medium, like you seem to have, to hold onto that joy.

You deserve every award they throw at you! Thank you for thinking of me to pass the torch.

My confession? Um, I'm a not-so-closet poet.

That and I'm afraid that if I ever actually see a project through all the phases it should go through I'll hate it and never want to see it again thus leading to never being published.

Thanks so much for the award! It actually made my day because as you know my life has been a bit complicated lately but I've been trying hard to see the silver lining! So it's a totally appropriate award. Thanks!!

I'm glad I know you! (That's not my confession, it's just a fact. *wink*)

I cannot relate I have no fears or worries... I hope everyone finds happiness or the strength to make their life this way.
Keep your head up and pen down… god bless.

Thx

"You like me, you really, really like me"! - done in my best Sally Field voice . . . EVER! Okay, I can't do Sally Field but . . . you like me, you really, really like me! She got so much flack for that acceptance speech. Poor Sally.

Thanks for the award!

My confession? That one day when I'm old, all of my family will say (behind my back quietly) 'It's so sad, she wrote all her life and never got a book published, poor thing.' That they'll have missed the point that I wrote, whether or not I ever got published.

Deepest writing related fear? That I lack the courage or the talent.

OMG - I have the same one! It's tough to balance it all - especially when the bubs are still at home.

My confession for tonight, I can't stop writing this scene. I haven't even started dinner. Yikes!

Ha ha. Suzette just told me she's giving me an award tomorrow. Too funny, 'cause I have one for you tomorrow too. :-)

That's a healthy fear to have; it'll keep you on your toes and ensure it'll never come true :)

And congrats to all the awards winners! It's sweet of you to give a shoutout to fellow bloggers.

Biggest fear: Unknown creatures in the dark.

Oh ... you mean writing fear? Well, okay then ... unknown creatures in the dark, recesses of a character's mind! :)

Congrats on the awards and congrats to the awardees! (And isn't Elana wonderful? Guess what? You are too!)

Elana is wonderful, and so are you, LT. Actually, so are ALL of you! I read all your fears and realize that, at one time or another, I have those same fears.

Ready for my confession? I fear that by writing down a fear, I may make that fear come true. Do you ever feel like words are THAT powerful? Sometimes when I invent something for a book, nearly identical events unfold in my life...but that sounds like a whole 'nother blog post, doesn't it. ;)

thanks for pointing out Elana's fab posting.

Writing down your fear wont make it come true! Saying things that are negative might though. But that is spooky about the unfolding events!

My confession - I'm sort of afraid of the dark when I'm alone at night. I leave a light on. Like a BIG light - not a nightlight. Weeny.

Writing confession...I'll never be as good as I want to be.

Um Confessions...let me pull out my notebook. Does this pertain to writing? Oh it does, thank god.
I think about writing more then I think about working on my relationship. Which is what I should be doing, but thats boring.

LOL, Office Girl. I like you already!

And I know, believe me, I know. My fear is TOTALLY irrational. But I do worry about jinxing myself!

Ugh... I don't know. Every day my fear changes, but the biggest thing I ever fear is big fat FAILURE, it just changes from day to day what I think failing is.
