To officially sign up, you'll need to go to The Story Siren, a fantabulous book review blog. There are even several shiny free buttons to choose from for sidebar display!
We would love to have your help in beefing up our list. Tell us about any books from debut authors you plan on reading this year.
Suzy
UPDATE: Just ordered my first three books on Amazon. Yay! 1-25-10

^.^ Sounds interesting Suzette ^.^
I've committed to thirty something books. Now I just have to figure out how to get my hands on them all! :-)
This sounds like a great challenge. I'm excited about Karen Kincy's debut Other.
I'm def doing this challenge. Gotta support the debuts! I haven't decided on a number yet though. Hmmm...
Oooh, oooh! I'm all over this. I want THE SECRET YEAR by Jennifer Hubbard on my list. And BLEEDING VIOLET by Dia Reeves. THE NAUGHTY LIST by Suzanne Young. Um, um, I know I know others! I'll see if I can remember any of them.
This looks like fun!
Definitely The Duff.
Leaving Gee's Bend by Irene Lathan
Prophecy of Days by Christy Raedeke
sf
What a cool idea! I'll check it out!
Ooh! Here's one: Lindsey Leavitt's Princess for Hire.
What a great cause.
You should add:
The Mockingbirds by Daisy Whitney.
She is fabulous and I know her debut novel will be GREAT!
They sound like great books! Love the idea :)
I'm looking forward to reading "Paranormalcy" by Kirsten White which comes out in September.
Thanks for the link to the Story Siren.
What an awesome idea.
OMG, I"m number one? I LOVE YOU!!!!
I'd echo the comments here - good idea! I'll go check it out and start compiling my list. Fun! Fun!
Good idea! If I weren't broke, I'd go for it; since I am, I try to encourage the blog writers around me. I nominated you for the Happy Blogger Award on my blog. Good luck meeting your goal!
What a fun idea! I'd have to take a moment to breathe and compile my own list. I might have to copy your list to start me off.
It was so nice to finally meet you. Thanks again for opening your home to a bunch of crazy writers. :)
I can't wait to read THE DUFF. I'm with Elana with THE SECRET YEAR and The NAUGHTY LIST. I know there's others, but my brain's gone blank right now. Talk about pressure!
Thanks so much for including me on your list! I feel like I'm a little late to the party. My deal was just done before Christmas and my editor is rushing for a Sept release, so it's hard getting the word out so fast.
On my list:
NIGHTSHADE by Andrea Cremer
SEA by Heidi Kling
Yay for the 2010 Debut Author Challenge :)
Hi there- I left you a comment with some info about my book on my blog if you have any interest in reading it. This is a pretty awesome challenge!
I'll have to do this officially. I tend to read a lot of debut authors in YA, but this will put it in goal form. Thanks for the idea.
This is such a great idea! How fun!
I'm joining you on this challenge! Thanks for posting.
FYI- you won an award on my blog ;)

Ooooh, wonderful idea!
Here are a few debut novels to add to your list:
The Sapphire Flute, by Karen E. Hoover, released March 16th by Valor.
Northanger Alibi, by Jenni James, released June 1st by Valor.
Let me know what you think of them (both ladies are very good friends of mine)!
:)
Wonderful suggestions! Thank you all!
I'm so interested in doing this also. But I'm not sure how to get my list of debut authors! Maybe I'll just do like you and wait for suggestions. Oh yeah! I guess I'll be a debut author this year, if my book prints on schedule!
I read several books (that I loved) by debut authors last year and will definately be watching for more fiction from new authors this year. One of my favourite books is debut novelist Bonnie Grove's Talking to the Dead.
Oh fun!! I love finding and reading debut authors. I'll head over to Story Siren and sign up too!
Hi Bethany! Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'll be back to read more of yours tomorrow!
Great challenge! Love supporting debut authors. There were several I wanted to try but I'm drawing a blank. But great suggestions here.
Oh, Shadow Hills looks good. If I think of others, I'll be back!
Hey Suzy!
Thanks so much for including Nightshade. Can't wait for all these great 2010 debuts!
