www.querytracker.net is a site that has changed my life. It has made submitting manuscripts fun (yes, fun!) and in the Query Tracker Forum I have forged friendships with fellow writers that will last a lifetime.

Few knew that Query Tracker had a blog associated with it... until recently. To quote Patrick McDonald, the owner of Query Tracker:

Some of you may have noticed that I am the world's worst blogger. A group of dear friends from QueryTracker and RallyStorm have also noticed and have graciously volunteered to help. Each of them is a talented writer with plenty to say and lots of great ideas for making this blog more informative and enjoyable for everyone, so of course I jumped on the chance to have them join in. For me, their offer was a Christmas Miracle.

I am honored to count myself among his "dear friends" and look forward to this adventure in blogging! If we are the Christmas Miracle, then Patrick is the Everyday Miracle for all of us. It is his genius that has created the website that has touched so many lives.

Welcome to the very first post on my very new blog!

A number of years ago as I stood gazing skyward in Goblin Valley, a large meteor rocketed through the layers of the earth's atmosphere, changing colors as it went, burning more and more brightly as it fell. It seemed to land not far from me, just a few short mountains and valleys away. My first instinct was to run out into the desert and chase it down. Had it caused a crater? Was there anything left of the star?

I've named this blog Shooting Stars in honor of the dreams we all pursue. As we hold them aloft we see their bright potential. When they become reality we want to know the impact they have on others here on earth.

Cheers; to dreams, and to the great potential we all carry within us.
