The Amazing Marlene Stringer

This past October I had the pleasure of meeting my agent, the incredible Marlene Stringer (in the photo, holding someones adorable baby).
Here's what she's like in person:
She is absolutely bursting with energy.
She wears sassy skinny-leg pants.
She's incredibly sweet.
She knows the book business--both the legal side and the creative side.
She's quite possibly the best agent around.
Here's what she's looking for:
Mystery
Thriller
Contemporary & Urban Fantasy
Romance
Women’s Fiction
Historical Fiction
Science Fiction
Young Adult/Teen
Middle Grade Fiction
Our agency represents select non-fiction, including parenting, history, music, sports and popular science. If your manuscript falls between categories, or you are not sure of the category, query and we’ll let you know if we’d like to take a look.
She's temporarily closed to queries until the new year, so start polishing them up to send on January 1st. And good luck!

That she represents you and Erica Hayes is pretty freaking awesome :-)

Thank you. I'm actually researching agents right now, preparing to query. :)

She's on my list of agents to query. I might be querying her this week--if I have the time.

I just checked their website--they're closed to queries until 1/2/12. :(

I agree with Bethany! Marlene is great to work with. Even though, I'm still unpubbed, she's been brilliant through the submission process and really IS lightning fast in her responses. It's great to see her pic and it looks like that super cute baby likes her, too.

Is this cosmic timing or what? I'm sending out another batch of queries this week, so I'll add her to my list. Put in a good word for me! *wink* :)

Thanks for the head up!

Ummmmmm...her website states that they are closed to queries from 12/1/11 - 1/2/12.

Thanks for the heads up regarding your agent. You mentioned that she won't be taking queries until the beginning of the new year so that should give me time to work through one of MS's to submit her way.

I'm hoping to be ready to query sometime in the new year - Marlene will definitely be on my list! :)
