The Best Things

Blogging is fun. Really, really fun. I love connecting with all of you people out there in the blogosphere.

There is one thing I like better. Srsly, it is more fun than blogging. What is it? Meeting fellow bloggers in real life.

I'm on the left. I got to hang with, from left to right:
  • Michelle Argyle, also known as Lady Glamis whose blog is The Innocent Flower.
  • Elana Johnson. We met online in the QueryTracker forum about a year and a half ago and have hung out in RL several times since. Seriously, this gal is a laugh a minute - and one of my best friends. Her blog is Mindless Musings.
  • Tess Hilmo was gracious to host us all in her beautiful home. The kiddles ran through sprinklers and Tess had a barrel full of iced drinks. (How cool is that?) Her blog is here.
  • And the cute-as-a-button Natalie Whipple. Though I'm sure her kids are cute as buttons, I didn't get to meet them. Her blog is Between Fact and Fiction.
Have you ever had the chance to meet up with people you've met online? How did it go?

Never got a chance, but I would LOVE to. I haven't really made any fellow blogger "friends" so to speak. But I've been in my shell for a few months. This post here really made me smile today. You guys (gals I mean) look great. I hope you had a ball!

I met up with this musician I met on MySpace three years ago, and now we've been married for over a year ;)

I met with another mom who is an amazing photographer. She took my baby's new born pictures, and this year I'll ask her again to come to our house for the Christmas picture.
How fun you guys got to meet. I'd like to meet you too!

I think meeting is super fun. I am always a bit nervous, but since you were going to be there, Suz, I was all in. :)

So cool!!! I belong to a mom's community and one mom came to my area once. She called and and we tried to hook up, but she had very little time (she was here on business) and I just couldn't get together when she had free time.

I haven't yet, but it's something I would love to do. Although, I would be a little scared to meet people in person. I mean, it's one thing to hide my nerdishness on-line, but so much harder to do in person. >.<

It's funny, but I never get nervous. I guess because I feel like I already know them. And besides... nerdishness is the new cool. ;)

It was so much fun. And, while it is a bit scary to step out of the blogosphere, the reward of new writing pals is worth the risk :D

Wow! What a great idea! Sounds like you had a great time! You can't beat sprinklers and iced drinks with great company! :)

I have not had the chance to meet other fellow bloggers that I connect with, but would love the opportunity. I know it would be difficult since we all live in different parts of the world. This would be a fun event though and there would be so many things to talk about and share.

How awesome that you had that opportunity ... sounds like a blast!

Yes. I only recently made the switchover to Blogger...and I'm still in transition, but I've been blogging on MySpace for a while. A year and a half ago a group of us who had been blogging for a while got together in NY. It was awesome. The difference was, on MySpace you have a huge male blogging population and the get-together was about 50 percent male. I think an all-female get-together would be better.

It was so much fun to meet you!!! And thanks for the ride. I agree that meeting bloggers is even better than blogging. :D

Lady G, I love ya. It was really fun to meet you! You are a sweetheart and Darcy is a doll.

It is fun to get the gals together. Though I wouldn't mind a few of the gentlemen. Writers understand writers. It's almost like being with family. ;) I hope to someday meet all of you!!!

Met this awesome friend who critiqued a sample of what I wrote. Today, we are so bonded and close and even our kids are tight. Sarah
