Yay and Boo

YAY to Angie Lofthouse! Her story, which you can find here, won the Publisher's Choice Award and will appear in a Christmas collection. Congratulations, Angie!

BOO to spammers who use comments on others' blogs to promote their pornographic websites. We've had a few of those lately, so I've had to turn comment moderation on. (Sorry!) Have you had problems with spammers? If so, how do you deal with them?

I wish you all a most amazing week.

Suzy

P.S. Be sure to check out my post today on the QueryTracker blog. :)

Congrats to Angie Lofthouse. And I always have to moderate comments or it's spammed. The moderation really helps.

Thanks for the link, Suzette! Sorry about the spammers. I haven't had a problem so far. (Keeping my fingers crossed.)

Congratz to Lofthouse!!!

and yes, I have had a couple spammers that just post something like 'hi' on my site, then when I go to see who they are, it turns out it is NOT a person. >.<, I really hate people like that!

Congrats Angie. And you do what you did to avoid the spammers. I had to do it for a while. Since I've taken moderation off, it hasn't happened again. :)

Congrats to Angie!

And that's another reason I <3 Wordpress. Fabulous spam blockage. I don't think my Wordpress Akismet has *ever* failed me.

Congrats Angie!!! And yeah, I've had a few spammers on my blog, but not of the pornographic variety, thank goodness. Now my Twitter account is another story. I'm always getting "followers" that are...less than clothed. They get blocked as fast as I can hit the button :)

Yay Angie!

Sorry about the spammers! I've only had it happen once, and I think it had something to do with how I'd tagged my post. "Social Networking..." I've been getting Twitter spammers too! DOWN WITH SPAM!

I haven't had problems with having my words stolen, nor even my comments, but I have found a short story I wrote in different websites. They all link back to my blog, but still, it makes me a little nervous about not having control over who copies and uses (or misuses) my words.

Congrats to Angie!

I have a spammer from Taiwan (always the same) that happens to show every 2-3 months, so it doesnt bother me too much (I just delete the message).

I've also had one of my posts copied in a website. It had a link to my blog too, but just in case I copyright everything and warn about it.
