Before and After - My Work in Progress

These are photos of the project my family and I have been working on for the last three years.

BEFORE:
AFTER:

The inside is nearly complete. (We are doing much of the work ourselves.) When it's done we'll be able to spread out into the new rooms. Hooray!

Man, I can testament to the blood and tears! they have had the roof leak, the drywall get wet and damaged, staying up all night catching water in buckets....there are so many things that have gone wrong! But I'm glad it is turning out absolutly georgous!

You didn't have the garage door in the last time I was over - It looks really nice!

Wow! That's beautiful! I'm jealous of your house now. And I can see why that would take all your time! Good job!

Wow, they're the same place? I must admit I love the before picture. It reminds me of Finland, one of my fav countries in the world. Okay, I'm partially biased because I'm half Finnish.

Looking forward to Monday's QT contest. I figured I'll enter after all since I have a sentence sitting on my computer begging to be used. It's that or print it on my t-shirt for the LA SCBWI conference in August. :D And it's not like Joanna is going to shot me for entering. I hope.

Yes, it's the same house, Stina. We just added a lot on. I would love to see Finland! Do you get there often?

I'm SOOO glad you are entering! You are so supportive of our blog, and it makes me happy to know you'll enter. :)

My family used to visit Finland every year when we lived in England, and every couple of years after we moved to the US. I stayed with my grandparents one summer when I was in university. You can imagine how went. I couldn't speak much Finnish, and they couldn't speak any English. In grad school, I spent a semester in Jyvaskyla (central Finland) and loved it. Mostly hung out with other exchange students, though. I've lived in Canada over 20 years. But each winter, when the snow hits, I always think it looks like Finland. I miss the place, a lot.

I haven't been back in over ten years, but hope to one day. I want my kids to see the place that means so much to me. :0)

I was excited to see the response you girls had to the contest. Hope your heads weren't hurting too much. :0)

What an amazingly wonderful thing to have Finland as part of your life, and to share it with your children. America is a wonderful place to live, but I think we lose touch with our roots somewhat.

The contest was a huge success. I'm excited to see who the agent chooses!

I had a feeling it would be big. How many entries did you get in the end? Is Joanna really going to pick four out of the group? That's going to be tough. I bet there were some amazing sentences . . . as well as ones that left you scratching your head. I can't wait to read the winning sentences as well. That's how we learn to do better.

Can't wait for your next contest. They're just way too much fun!

I haven't heard how many entries we had, and I am very curious to find out. There were a lot of fantastic hooks. Luckily Joanna has been absolutely wonderful to work with. Anyone repped by her is a lucky person indeed.

I totally agree with you about Joanna. That's why I wrote that comment on Monday about her. Even if she doesn't end up repping anyone who entered, the feedback the winners will get will be invaluable. :D
