The QueryTracker Blog is hosting another Agent-Judged Contest! Chris Richman of Upstart Crow Literary wants to read your one-sentence pitch. The contest will open April 27, 2010. Mr. Richman is looking for Middle Grade and Young Adult. He WILL NOT BE CAPPING ENTRIES.
I'm excited to be working with Mr. Richman on this contest! You will need to be a follower of the QueryTracker Blog to enter, so go give it a follow.
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Why are there all these contests for YA and middles grade? What has happened to adult fiction? I want to enter every time I hear about one, but then I read it's for YA. Do you know of any for adult? ... pretty please?
Ha, I'm with you Jessica. Where's the adult?? ;-)

As a YA writer, I'm thrilled about this - thanks Suzette!
You're welcome, Kristi. :D
Glad to know you'd like adult fiction contests, Justine and AA. What particular genres would you like to see?
That sounds like a great opportunity.
Well, I'm a women's fiction writer, so I guess commercial fiction. Justine, you're romance arent you?
Thanks for the heads up, Suz. Love the new background here, too.
I think YA is so popular these days, and making so much money for the industry, that every agent either reps it or is about to rep it.
It is a little sad, and frustrating too, but the market is a fickle thing.
That being said I'm excited for this contest. Chris reps Cole Gibsen who is an awesome writer and did a great guest post for me last week where she shared the query and correspondence with him that earned his representation.
Today's guest blogger is Rachel Alpine!
Sorry for posting all that promotional stuff but it was just too relevant not to.
I will definitely be entering this contest and you should too (if you write YA or MG, of course)!
Schweeeeeeett!
Thanks for the heads-up, Suzette. Thank God I have a little time - my one sentence and one-minute pitches are the weakest part of my "query" right now. I hate them. :-)
I'm with Justine & AA. I don't write YA/MG. =[ I write fantasy/steampunk but for an adult audience.
However, I'm happy for all those who will participate in the contest!
Cool! I'm in!
Awesome! So exciting! (How I wish I had something new to send him).
Woohoo! That is so awesome! I'm all signed up! =)
Glad you all are excited. (I know I am!) Here's another heads-up. Your pitch needs to be 25 words or less.
As for the other genres, the QueryTracker blog has held contests for those genres in the past and most certainly will in the future. (I'll make sure of it! I do so appreciate your feedback.)
Thanks for the heads up and the word limit.
Thanks for the advance notice - awesome!! :)
From the looks of it, it's been a good time for MG & YA authors. Lots of great opportunities. I think I just might be missing out on something!
Thanks for the heads up! Time to start polishing...
Middle grade/young adult writers or writing?
