Don't you love finding The One?

I love reading blogs. There, I said it. (Hubby would be appalled!) But I find inspiration like none other from my fellow in-the-trenches writers.

You'll notice from the date stamp that, thanks to a migraine/caffeine event, I am up in the wee hours of the morning. Here are two of the treasures I found:

First, laughing my you-know-what off to discover that Bethany's post was the inspiration for this hide-and-seek game on Winded Words. Jackee, you rock!

And then, pure unadulterated inspiration, found on one of my favorite blogs, Dancing Down Serendipity Street.

It's called Everywhere I Go by Lissie. This song ranks right up there with Sia's Breathe Me. Don't you love when you find the perfect song? What song has been The One for you?

Watch for a big announcement here on Monday!

I do love finding the perfect song. When I do, usually blog about it, 'cause... I can't help myself. 'Course, recently, all my perfect songs are symphonic metal, but them's the breaks...

Ooh, pretty. I do like that song.

Usually, there's not just one song that fits a story, there are several. But in my previous book, Apocalyptica's BITTERSWEET fit my vamp story perfectly.

Oooh, the suspense is killing me. I hope the big announcement is what I think it is (or at least what I hope it is).

I'm not one of those writers who creates a song list for my books, but there is an Avril Lavigne song that fits one of my characters, kinda.

What a fantastic song! Coincidentally it's the perfect song for me right now. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful song! And thanks for mentioning me. I don't rock so much, honest. I just love to laugh and Bethany had me chuckling.

Can't wait for the big announcement!

My latest "the one" song was KD Lang singing Hallelujah at the Olympic Opening Ceremony - amazing stuff :)

Lately, I've been writing with Jason Walker's DOWN on repeat. Such a great song. And thanks for the recommendation. I love it!

Suzzete,

That song is absolutely lovely; I've never heard of Lissie, believe it or not. She has quite a range between those high and trembly, those low and silky notes.

Thanks so much for the tip on my blog. Seriously! I had no idea and am ENORMOUSLY appreciative!!!

Better now...

I do love symphonic metal! I was stuck on Apocalyptica's Nothing Else Matters for a long time. (Esp. the live version!) I can't wait to check out the recommended songs. I ususally find new favorites that way.

I guess I should amend the post to say a big little announcement, Stina, because it's not that big of a thing... just something fun. ;)

Somehow I missed your comment, Jennie, I think we were posting at the same time. You are so welcome! :)

You just inspired me. I'm on iTunes right now finding my perfect song so I can *feel something.* Love this one by Lissie. I used to be big into singer/songwriters, but I lost my touch. Lately I haven't had "time" for music and maybe that's why I haven't felt very creative.

Happy Sunday!

Wow. She has a lovely voice. I find I do better writing to instrumental music and I love flamenco and classical guitar.

I love finding the perfect anything. Shoes. Diner. Car. Song. so yay for that!

For me, my perfect song is If You're Not the One by Daniel Bettingfield. (I think that's how you spell it. Those T's might be D's...)

And I can't wait until Monday!

I just got goosebumps listening to that song.

My song is "Lie in the Sound" by Trespassers William.

Big announcment?! Ooooh!

I love finding the perfect song too. There's one by Smashing Pumpkins that is PERFECT for my WIP. (But only the dark/mad parts.)

One of my favorites is Angels on the Moon by Thriving Ivory. I also LOVE the version of Same in Any Language that I Nine did.

Can't wait for your fun news! I always enjoy stopping by to see what you both are up to. :)

I love that song by Thriving Ivory, and can't wait to check out the rest of your suggestions tonight with my earphones in place!

Sometimes a dark song is just what's called for. I had to write a really dark part of story, a murder, actually. To get in the right frame of mind I Googled "saddest songs of all time" and found the perfect playlist.

Cool song. I have a whole playlist for my book. I like to write with it playing sometimes. I also have editing songs and researching songs. Did I mention I'm a big fan of music?

Suzette Saxton said...

Does anyone use a site for their playlists? I use playlist.com and have liked it, though they don't always have every song I am looking for.

I love that the blogging world helps keep me connected with other people and writers. I have too many songs right now. When I widdle them down, I'll have to pass it along. =)
