Genres: YA, subgenres of fantasy, sci-fi, religious/thriller.

How many books...so far, 5 full drafts. Several have been rewritten occasionally. At least 8 other wips in the making.

I haven't subbed yet! But I will do.

Most of my books are linked. A few are standalone, but there are at least two series

Empire series
Misty Realm series

I also review books :)

# Genre(s)

I thinking not necessarily ya. Definitely fiction/ fantasy.

# How many books you've written

1 complete. Process of re-editing. 2nd is being written currently. 3rd was started, but put on hold.

# Have you submitted to agents/publishers?

Um, no. I want all three written and edited before I start mailing things out.

# Anything else you want to share

they are all the same trilogy. At least, I'm thinking it'll be just a trilogy. *crossing fingers*

Inspirtational romance. Contemporary and one historical. Yes, I've subbed. :-) Got some rejections, got some partials out. :-)

Wow, well, I really CAN spell the genre I write. LOL

I've written one completed sci-fi/romance with a planned sequel and about quarter way through a thriller/techno/romance. I've started a straight out thriller but the romantic side of me is creeping in and it'll wind up all mushy if I let it.

My novel is being self edited now and will be ready for consumption in about three months. (This time, I'm not rushing it)

Genre(s): Urban fantasy, fantasy, dark fantasy

How many books you've written: Four. Don't know how many of those will see the light of day, though!

Have you submitted to agents/publishers? Yes. One of the books, EMBERS, will be forthcoming from Juno Books next year. I'm currently working on its sequel...and discovering that writing a series is a much different animal than writing a stand-alone! It's really stretching my creative muscles.

Dark words on a light background, pretty please.

Genre: Sci-fi, SFR, and comic fantasy.... the main requirement is that things go boom and I can giggle while I write.

Number of Books Started: Over 20

Number of Books Finished: 6 or 7.... I've honestly count

Submitted: Several short stories, no novels

Sharing Time: My first published short story comes out next month in M-BRANE #5 under the title "Seventy". I originally wrote it for a sci-fi anthology, and a received a politely worded rejection saying the writing was good, but the story too tame for the anthology.

Two weeks later it had a permanent home.

Fun seeing what everyone is working on...

- I write romance, horror, & dabble in mystery/thriller.

- 3 manuscripts complete, editing one now, hopefully for submission in the fall (if not before).

- Haven't submitted yet, but am working on a short story to submit next month.

- I've wanted to be "a writer" since I was in high school, but it was more of a "someday" dream until this year. Some sort of "switch" seems to have flipped in my brain recently, and I actually have confidence that I *can* be a writer - so I'm going after a writing career (instead of a dream) with gusto.

My Genre: Picture book, easy reader, middle grade, and maybe YA.

I have completed four picture books and I am looking for the right agent.

Currently I am working on three WIPs. One is a fantasy for middle grade about a gnome and secrets. Another is an early chapter book series about a boy who thinks he has been bitten by a hyperactive spider which is why he is always in trouble. Third my most personal novel is "Letters to Grandma" which is dramatic and full of a young girls hope.

So that is it until the next picture book pops in my head. Did I mention I am scatter brained?

Happy Blogging!

Wow, it's interesting reading about everyone's projects and progress.

Let's see...I write contemporary inspirational fiction. (I've dabbled a little in romance, YA and fantasy).

I've completely 10 manuscripts and have about 30 more wandering around in my head (and some on paper).

I am, fortunately past the querying stage for now. My first book will be published by OakTara this year. Yay!

Hi all!

Genre/s: YA sci-fi, thriller, sci-fi/romance, surrealistic.

Books written: 2 novels, 12 short stories and a serialized endless story in my blog (4 books copyrighted).

One novel in progress.

I'm submitting my finished works to agents in the coming weeks, so wish me luck, hahah.

I've always wanted to be a writer since I was little. It was a real pleasure and a nice pastime, though I used to hide it because people thought I was weird when I said I wrote books.

Over the years I started taking it more seriously. I have a wide test group who read and review my works and sometimes I like to think there's a chance for me to get out of the closet (laughs) and become a published writer.

I write sci/fi and fantasy. I've written one novel, two novellas, many, many short stories, and part of another novel. I have submitted thousands of times, mostly to magazines, with nine published short stories, and one novella coming soon! Still submitting the novel and other short stories. Love your posts, Suzette!

Genre: fantasy, I think young adult. Lyrics and a script for a musical (fairytale - close enough to fantasy. lol)

I have written one horrible novel, which is now in pieces as I write a prequel to it.

I have submitted some flash fiction/short stories to publishers. No bites yet! (Well, maybe some nail biting. lol)

Hi Suzette,
Thanks for following my blog. Getting my first follower is pretty exciting. Oh and I enjoyed your story, The Bone Setter.

My projects (i have lots of these):
Genres - I'm not too good with genres. Mostly fiction, fantasy, some science fiction.

How many books you've written - None! I've only ever finished writing one story before and although I like the idea, it still needs major rewriting.

Have you submitted to agents/publishers? No and I'm not planning to in the near future, since I haven't finished writing anything yet. :)

Anything else I want to share:
I am blogging under the name of one of my characters... I collect all the story ideas I come up with and have a few exercise books full now. Truth is, I am currently writing over half a dozen stories at the same time. Some people would say that I should just concentrate on one at a time, but different stories are for different writing moods, see?

Publishing and stuff isn't on my mind, because I mostly just want to find out what happens in my stories. That's pretty much all I write for - to find out what happens. Generally, if I have worked out the plot to a certain story, I won't be writing on it anymore, because the story in my head is finished. Yeah, I'm a little weird. :D It's cool.

Before I chicken out and leave without commenting, I must admit that since I found all of you (several weeks ago) I have felt "out of my element" for the first time in my life. I've forced myself out of my shell long enough to visit some of your spaces and comment and follow. I follow to learn from you and, BOY! This journey is amazing!

I write poetry, short stories, and inspirational pieces.

I self-published my first (and only) book in March of 2008. At 62 years of age I did not want to wait months or years to get rejection letters from agents publishers or others on the merits of my work.

I established "DellGirl Publishing" for my book. My book is "At The Starting Gate" is a collection of poetry, short stories and inspiration.

I have not submitted.

I am working on two books and have many many wips. Mainly poetry. Only a few shorts.

Thank you so much for this opportunity...I guess you can see I got sort of long winded.

I write YA sci-fi and I'm dabbling in horror on my latest. I have one completed ms, which I'm obsessively editing, and three others in various stages of development. I submitted to two agents before realizing my ms still needed a lot of work. But I'm getting very close to being ready to start again. Yea!

Suzette Saxton said...

Wow, what a variety of... well... everything! I must admit I found these comments fascinating and have read every word. I think it's only fair that I share mine with you:

I'll could quote Sherry Dale Rogers as my genres are identical:
Picture books - several
Easy reader - 3
Middle grade - 3
And maybe YA - 1 WIP

As for where I am in my submission journey, I've had some interesting things happen lately. And though I'm not at liberty to share them yet, I hope to soon.

Anything else I want to share - I love you guys! Thanks for joining me on my journey, and for letting me join you on yours.

Genre: YA paranormal, urban fantasy, romance

Number of books written: Two. First one is being rewritten from YA fantasy (medieval period) to YA paranormal (contemporary), though it's pretty much a completely new story. Only the characters and a few original scenes remain. It's amazing what happens when I get sidetracked.

Submissions: I've had a number of requests from agents (7) regarding my YA urban fantasy romance, but they all ended in rejection. Love the story idea. Didn't love the voice (chick lit). One agent recently told me that she liked the idea so much, if no one else wanted to rep it, and I was willing to do some serious revisions (i.e. the voice and a few other things), then she'd be happy to reread it. Before she had even got back to me, I had already decided to rewrite it. At least the plot will remain the same. My writer friends really like the new voice alot, so it looks like I'll be extremely busy for a while. Not that I'm complaining. And at least I know what agents to requery once it's done. :0)

Normally, I write in science fiction (space opera)...though I've been branching out into thriller and general fiction work somewhat.

I've written several books (and continue writing more), with one published and one coming out in January.

I submit mostly to agents, though haven't received any bites, so began submitting to smaller publishers (which is how my first two books ended up with Champagne Books).

Not much else to share at the moment, but it's time to head off to bed as the day job tends to come around rather early. ;-)

Suzette, thanks for being a follower of my blog. I look forward to getting to know you more through yours.

I write inspirational Christian romances.

Not published, and not yet sending out. I am working on finishing my fourth full ms, with a couple others in the creation phase.

I write romantic suspense. Although, I've written 1 1/2 of a YA series. I decided to leave that genre once I became a stay-at-home mom instead of a teacher. Now, I've written 2 rs, but am reworking the second (which I feel is a better book).

I haven't submitted to anyone yet. Just not ready.

I'm looking into starting my own critique group and am requesting advice from other writers. If you would like to shed some light, stop over.

Hi Suzette:
I've only written one novel so far and that is a historical family saga. I've submitted to a few agents but probably should be doing more. I see that you can't wait around to hear from them before you do more. I'd be dead by the time I got anywhere.

I don't know that i write in any particular genre. I simply write what I feel, what comes to me, this may sound strange. At times some pieces seem to have a life of its own. It needs to be written and just flows until it doesn't. Does that make sense? haha, probably not, anyway take a look. I have a couple of blogs and although i don't put everything i write on them there are a few. There is this blog RHAPSODY PHOENIX and then is my msn spaces blog RAPPING ON A MELODY (ROAM) http://rappingonamelody.spaces.live.com

Have a joyful and blessed weekend. Peace.

I write Middle Grade and YA, mostly fantasy, some action/adventure and a ghost story now and then.
I have one complete MS I'm trying to find a home for, (only rejections so far). It's a Middle Grade fantasy, first an intended series called QUESTS.
I'm also working on another series of fantasy stories.
I hope to write a YA adventure novel someday as well.

Great to meet you, Barmaid! We write similar stuff.

And Rhapsody, that makes perfect sense. ;)
